Hello Ladies. It has been a while since I have been on these boards. When I heard about Sushi I came running to share my hurt and find some support from other people who loved her like I did. Wow. There has been so much love and support shared here. I thank God for you all and for the friendships that have blossomed here. I was blessed to know Jewelyn because of this site and I am grateful for being able to know her, if only for a little while.
If there is anyway that I can help out with the fund raising efforts, please let me know. Money is tight for me but I would love to volunteer my time and some items for the rummage sale. Please e-mail me or those who have my number can call me. Thanks!

Jewelyn’s story has really impacted me…..

I heard about Jewelyn on one of the other boards shortly after she passed away. It really shook me because last year I almost died of a pulmonary embolism. And there’s really no reason why I lived and others die from it….it happens so quickly and almost instantly. It just so happened that the clots that formed in my lungs ended up in a different area of my lung. It really makes me appreciate my life so much more and put things in perspective. I’ve actually met up with Matt Logelin too–we had some mutual friends and had talked via email before I had the embolisms, and then we met up shortly after I got out of the hospital.
I also happen to work at UCLA and know some people who took care of Gabrielle. I heard one of my co-workers talking about a sad story of the patient she was caring for that day and I knew it sounded familiar, so I asked if the baby’s name was Gabrielle—and sure enough, it was her.
I’ve been meaning to make a donation, but am not sure how much I can swing right now. I heard mention of a yard sale. Is there someway I can get information about it and perhaps get more involved that way?

That I have been seeing posts about Jewelyn all over the Nest and the Bump and it is truly touching. I have never been on this board and did not know her, but I felt compelled to post here.
You all are wonderful people for coming together to help her family, and there are so many people who didn’t even know her who are stepping up. This is the kind of stuff I would like to see on the news– good people doing good things for others. It has restored my faith in humanity.

I actually was discharged with my baby soon after she went in for her induction that same weekend. I was induced as well and it’s very heartbreaking to hear of this news.
